Hannah Snayd ’28 earned MAAC Runner of the Week, and Devin Zachry ’28 collected two conference laurels.
Two first-year Stags have made their marks early in their ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ athletic careers. Hannah Snayd ’28 was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Runner of the Week after setting the pace for the women’s cross country team, while Devin Zachry ’28 was selected for two conference laurels after a big week for the ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ Men’s Soccer program.
Snayd beat the field at the Marist Season Opener, winning Saturday’s 5K race in Poughkeepsie by more than 21 seconds. Making her cross country debut, she broke the tape with a time of 17:56.6, outpacing runners from UConn, SUNY Albany, and Siena, in addition to host Marist. She is the Stags’ first MAAC Women’s Runner of the Week since current ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ Assistant Coach Courtney Kitchen ’23 earned the distinction as a senior in the fall of 2022.
Zachry scored one goal in each of ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ’s outings last week – a road trip to FDU and his Lessing Field debut on Saturday against Lafayette. For his efforts, he was voted as the MAAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week. On the young season, Zachry is the only Stag with two goals and shares the team high of four points with classmate Owen Drummond ’28.
