Stags Earn Pair of National Weekly Honors

Julian Radossich ’27 and Raiana Brown led their respective teams to victory last week.

A pair of ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ University student-athletes each claimed national recognition this past week, turning in standout performances while leading their respective teams to victory. Julian Radossich ’27 of the ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ men’s lacrosse team was named the USA Lacrosse Player of the Week, while ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ women’s basketball graduate student Raiana Brown was tabbed as a USBWA National Player of the Week.

Radossich set a ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ record with seven caused turnovers in the Stags’ season-opening win over Lehigh to claim Player of the Week honors from USA Lacrosse. His caused turnovers mark was just one shy of the NCAA Division I record.

Last season, Radossich established the ¹ú²úÉ«ÇéƬ single-season record of 27 caused turnovers en route to CAA Rookie of the Year and All-CAA First Team recognition.

Brown was selected as one of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s National Players of the Week after scoring 31-points on 11-for-11 shooting from the field in last Saturday’s win at crosstown Sacred Heart. Brown, who scored 12 points in a Thursday victory at Marist, was also named the MAAC Player of the Week and the Metropolitan Writers’ Player of the Week.

Brown is in her first season as a Stag after scoring more than 2,000 points at the Division II level, having spent time at both Queens College and Texas A&M International University.
