Applicants for graduate programs in the Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or international equivalent). Additional requirements vary by program.

Admission Requirements

BSN applicants for the DNP at 国产色情片 must hold a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent) with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher overall and in the nursing major. RN applicants who have a non-nursing bachelor's degree will be considered on an individual basis and may be required to complete select prerequisites to be eligible for admission to the DNP program.

Admission Deadline

Applications are considered on a rolling basis for classes until July 1.

Admission Procedures

Students seeking admission must complete the following procedure. Submit:

  • A Completed Application. (
  • A Professional Resume. Applicants are required to submit a current resume that includes employment and educational history.
  • A Personal Statement.  Discuss a practice problem in your field that, in your experience, has a broad impact on patient care outcomes.  State professional goals for the next 5-10 years.  Explain how a DNP degree will aid you in reaching your goals.
  • Official transcripts verifying completion of an undergraduate degree (BSN entry) and Master's degree (MSN entry). All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by an approved evaluating service.
  • Two Recommendation Forms and Letters, one of which must be from a current supervisor or professor who can assess one's clinical expertise and academic potential, accompanied by the University recommendation forms.
  • Copy of current RN License; licensure to practice in the state of Connecticut will be required upon admission.

Interview Process

Applicants who meet the above criteria will be invited in for an Admission interview.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess the following at time of application:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2 with a science GPA of 3.2 or higher 
  • A minimum of one year of current full-time experience as a registered nurse in a critical care setting
  • Applicants must have completed the following prerequisites prior to the application deadline with a grade of B- or above within the past 15-year period (5-7 years preferred); one prerequisite course is acceptable from AP credits or an early college course:
    • 2 semesters of Biology with Lab (Anatomy and Physiology meets the requirement)
    • 1 semester of Chemistry with Lab
    • 1 semester of Microbiology, Genetics, or advanced course in Biology
    • 1 semester of College Math (Statistics meets the requirement)

Admission Deadline

The application deadline is July 15 of each year for the following summer term. Applications must be fully completed by the deadline to be considered for review.

Applications must be submitted and verified in by 11:59 p.m. EST on the deadline date (July 15). Applications can only be verified once all payments, transcripts, and letters of evaluation have been received. To ensure your application is verified on time, try to complete your application at least 2-3 weeks before the deadline.

Admission Procedures

Applicants for admission must complete the following steps:

  • Complete the  application, including 国产色情片's open-ended essay questions.
  • Select your first priory campus (国产色情片 or Austin) on the application. If you wish to be considered for admission to both campuses, make the appropriate selection on the application; do not submit a two applications.
  • Request two letters of recommendation through the NursingCAS recommender portal.
  • Send official transcripts from all U.S. institutions attended to NursingCAS. 

Upload the following documents to the Documents section of NursingCAS:

  • Resume or CV (Please include all scholarship, research, leadership, awards, certifcations, and conferences)
  • Unencumbered RN license (Connecticut or Texas RN license will be required upon admission to respective campus)

  • 国产色情片's Employment Verification form, completed by current ICU nursing supervisor
  • CCRN Certification
  • Current BCLS, ACLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

International Applicants: Request that official evaluations of transcripts from all foreign institutions be sent to NursingCAS, using the World Education Services (WES) link in the Academic History section of the application.

 

Admission Requirements

This cohort program begins once each year in September. Qualified applicants will be invited to campus for an interview. Applications are reviewed by the Graduate Admission Committee.

Applicants for the DNP must demonstrate the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent). 
  • A grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Registered Nurse license to practice in the United States at the time of application. A Connecticut RN license will be required upon admission.
  • A minimum of one year's work experience as an RN (preferably in women's health) is required.
  • Current BCLS certification (must be maintained while in the program).

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree from a four-year college or university, with a 3.0 GPA or better in any subject. Students who have graduated from an ACEND Accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and have received a verification statement are eligible to apply, without the required pre-requisite courses. Those students who earned a degree in any other subject, may apply as long as they have completed the required pre-requisite courses prior to the start of the program.

All Egan graduate students are expected to comply with all requirements of their clinical/experiential learning agencies. Noncompliance with agency requirements (e.g. vaccination mandates) may result in the student being unable to complete the program requirements for graduation.

Prerequisite courses for the program beginning Fall 2025:

  • 1 semester of General Chemistry and lab
  • 1 semester of Biochemistry
  • 1 semester of Microbiology and lab
  • 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology and Lab
  • Introduction to Nutrition course

Applicants may apply prior to completing the pre-requisite courses, with no more than two courses outstanding. All the courses must be completed with a grade of C or better prior to starting the program.

Admission Process

Applications open October 1 and have a priority deadline of February 1. 国产色情片 University will notify admitted applicants no later than March 1, and they will have until March 15 to accept their offers. If openings are still available after March 15, additional applications will be accepted until July 1.

Students seeking admission must submit:

  • Personal Statement. Please write a one to two page letter of personal introduction and professional intent. Include the following information in your personal statement:
    • What inspired you to choose nutrition as a career?
    • What are your short and long term goals?

  • Transcripts. Submit transcripts from all colleges and universities attended that contributed to the baccalaureate degree as well as transcripts documenting completion of the pre-requisite courses (see Admission Requirements above). If you are enrolled in a pre-requisite course the same semester you apply, please include evidence of enrollment in final pre-requisite courses.
  • Graduate Record Examination. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is NOT required.
  • Letters of Recommendation. Applicants need two professional references.
  • International Students. We are accepting International students at this time.

Admission Requirements

MSN applicants for the DNP must hold a master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent) with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher overall and in the nursing major. Advanced Practice candidates must be eligible for APRN licensure in the state of Connecticut. Applications are reviewed by the Graduate Admission Committee.

Applications for the Post-Master's DNP are considered on a rolling basis.

A TOEFL composite score of 550 for the paper test, 213 for the computer-based, or 80 on the Internet-based test (IBT) is strongly recommended for admission. 国产色情片's is 3390.

A quality point average of 3.0 or higher is preferred. RN applicants who have a non-nursing bachelor's degree will be considered on an individual basis and may be required to complete select prerequisites to be eligible for admission to the MSN program.
